Many schools around the country have been closed to in-person learning since early 2020. Now, for the first time in more than a year and a half, schools are opening their doors to students and faculty alike.
ATC Healthcare Services provided many hospitals and medical facilities with the influx of medical workers they needed to keep their operations running smoothly all throughout the pandemic. Now that schools are reopening, our franchisees are excited to return to providing medical professionals to schools in addition to hospitals and medical facilities as we have in the past.
Although the back-to-school season typically finds parents focusing on purchasing new school supplies to prep their children for the new year, COVID-19 is at the forefront of their minds, ensuring that their children are safe and staying healthy upon return. School health professionals will be vital contributors to the protocol and measures put in place to protect children and teachers returning to school.
Responsibilities may look different than they once did for our staff. Though school health care professionals have always worked to manage students’ care plans and assist with the expected scraped knees, bumped heads and more, our medical professionals are now also trained to administer rapid COVID tests to their student population. These tests can be administered on-site at schools spanning all grade levels and contribute to keeping the returning student population safe and healthy.
As our school health care professionals work to keep their students safe, we work to keep them safe by providing important training resources on how to safeguard against contracting the virus themselves.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic struck the nation, there was a shortage in school health care providers, and ATC Healthcare Services has always been there to fill school districts’ growing need. As those needs continue to increase with schools returning to full capacity this fall, ATC Healthcare Services will continue to be there to assist.

We’re just passed the halfway point in 2021, and our team at ATC Healthcare couldn’t be more excited to share what we have planned for the rest of the year.
While we move on from the unprecedented events that occurred over the past year, the ATC Healthcare Services team is keeping their finger on the pulse of the healthcare industry and what services are most needed to keep our communities safe and healthy.
In recent months, testing for COVID-19 has expanded beyond doing a swab to detect the virus and into antibody testing. Antibody testing can now be done with a simple finger prick as opposed to a full blood draw, yielding results in around 15 minutes rather than over the course of several days. Our staff has already begun administering such tests to school-aged children and those that are traveling overseas, and we’re eager to carry on with these efforts as the country continues to fight off the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our franchisees have also been busy helping staff hospitals and other offices with medical professionals as the labor shortage wages on. Healthcare workers remain in high demand, and though medical facilities are struggling to fill their fulltime staff to capacity, we’re happy to provide our staffing services to keep these hospitals, schools, and other facilities running smoothly.
ATC Healthcare Services is able to have this impact because we are one of the largest medical staffing companies in the country, and we’re extremely excited to share the news that we will be entering the environmental staffing sector. In this segment, we will expand our services by staffing custodians, dietitian assistants, patient transports, and more. This is a great opportunity for our franchisees to increase their client roster, and we look forward to providing these additional services in the near future.
If you have any questions about what is on the horizon for ATC Healthcare or opening your own healthcare staffing franchise, please reach out to us to learn more.
All the best,

CEO, ATC Healthcare
The ATC Healthcare staffing franchise is always looking for new ways to help our communities stay healthy, and we’ve been working extra hard to do just that since the COID-19 pandemic struck the U.S. hard last March. We’ve gone beyond our typical scope of services—last year at the height of the pandemic, we unveiled ATC Testing and Screening Services to help with COVID-19 testing when people desperately needed the service.
Now, the need has shifted toward vaccine distribution, and we’re happy to be a part of that effort as well. Most recently, we launched a Times Square pop-up vaccine clinic staffed by more than 80 out-of-work Broadway workers who support our clinical staff in administrative rolls. At this site, we have been able to vaccinate up to 1,500 people a day with the help of out-of-work performers, producers, and managers who are working diligently to run the clinic smoothly so they can get back to entertaining the masses on one of New York’s most well-known streets. The vaccine clinic primarily serves those who work in the theater, film and television industries.
"Being able to fill 100% of the non-clinical jobs with laid off members of the theater community at the Times Square site is something really special," said Jordan Savitsky, president of ATC Healthcare's vaccine division. "At ATC, our forte is top-tier medical services solutions – wrangling theater workers is a challenge we hadn't encountered before. We met the challenge head-on, and the result is that we have some unbelievably talented people from the theater community working to get their peers vaccinated so we can all enjoy the magic of Broadway again.”
We continue to shift and adapt with the ever-changing healthcare industry, and we’re looking for adaptable, passionate people to join out healthcare staffing franchise. Reach out to us to learn more about becoming a franchisee and joining our ATC Healthcare franchise family.
It’s no secret that Americans are grappling with more stress than ever, and during Stress Awareness Month, we think it’s important to talk about it. We’ve been dealing with the challenges that come from living with the COVID-19 pandemic for more than a year now, and even as we head toward something like normal, many people are still feeling burnt out and stressed.
It’s likely not hard to trace the source of that stress — the strain of lockdowns, homeschooling children while working remotely, worry over the health of ourselves and our loved ones — but for many people, it’s related to burnout at work. Surveys show that 75% of people have experienced burnout at work, but a whopping 40% of people have experienced burnout during the pandemic specifically. For some, this may be related to the sudden changes in office structure or juggling more work and family responsibilities than normal. For others, the burnout may have been a long time coming, brought on by a work culture that isn’t a good fit, a job that isn’t enjoyable, or the frustration that can come from working to achieve someone else’s goals instead of your own.
Finding a job that makes you happy is a great way to lower stress levels permanently. And as we turn the corner on the pandemic, it may be time to consider following a different path — a path that puts you at the helm of your own career and allows you to make a positive impact on your community.
Franchising with ATC Healthcare comes with a variety of benefits that contribute to a lower stress work environment than you may be dealing with now. One of the largest advantages our franchisees boast about is the incredible back office support our corporate headquarters provides. We take care of all of the invoicing, payroll, collections or human resources needs our franchisees may have so they can focus on the work that is most important to them.
Franchising with ATC Healthcare also allows you to start with a proven business model, eliminating the guesswork that comes from opening a brand-new business from scratch. Our experienced franchise team guides you every step of the way, and continues to provide support all throughout your career as an ATC Healthcare franchisee.
This Stress Awareness Month, spend some time taking stock of your current situation. If your career is the source of your burnout, it may be time for a change, and we’d be happy to talk you through all the benefits franchising with ATC has to offer. In the meantime, take advantage of these tips to bring your stress levels down.

It’s officially been a year since the COVID-19 pandemic sent much of the world into lockdown. As a healthcare service provider, we feel we owe it to everyone we’ve worked with to take a moment to reflect on the challenges of the year. And we would be remiss if we did not start such a message with a massive thank you to everyone in the ATC family who has worked hard to keep medical facilities afloat when they needed help the most, particularly our healthcare workers who staffed medical facilities across the country as they struggled to keep up with the surging demand for healthcare workers. And to our franchisees, who buckled down and stayed flexible during what has been one of the most challenging years many of us have experienced.
As a company, we’re proud of the way we responded to a global pandemic that had an impact nobody could have predicted. We amped up the training we offer to provide additional COVID-19 specific guidance for those working in medical facilities. We prioritized supplying personal protective equipment (PPE) to our healthcare staff members and made sure they knew to make their own safety the highest priority.
And, while many were still reeling from the sudden nationwide shutdown, we sprang into action to come up with a way to help Americans beyond staffing medical facilities — we launched a brand new company division called ATC Testing and Screening Services to help keep up with the incredibly high demand for COVID-19 testing. Launching this service allowed us to employ thousands of healthcare associates who were not deployed at medical facilities and who may have been furloughed without this new opportunity.
At ATC Healthcare Services, we take great pride in taking care of people, including our healthcare staff, our franchisees, and those they are able to help with their expertise and compassion. We’re overjoyed that we can take care of our people as they continue to assist healthcare facilities in their quest to protect the country during this pandemic.

Love is in the air as Valentine’s Day approaches, and we’d like to put the spotlight on one of our ATC couples, Theo and Erin Unbehagen, who opened up their ATC Healthcare Services franchise at the end of 2020.

Theo and Erin met more than 20 years ago, but Erin says she was sure he was the one from the moment they met. “That night I went home and I told my mom I met my husband!” Erin said. The two married a few years later, moving from Oklahoma, to North Carolina, to Louisiana, and finally to Texas, where they live and operate their business today.
Owning a business together is something the couple had talked about for a long time before they decided to start looking for a business that fit their specific skills and needs. “We both thought it would be a great idea to have something of our own that we could build together, but it was just kind of a dream.” Theo said. “Then ATC came along, and with Erin being an RN and the way the world changed to have this need for healthcare, ATC provided for that need… it was time to sign up and go into business together.”
Though starting their business during a global pandemic has its challenges, Erin and Theo both said the support from ATC headquarters has been incredible. “ATC corporate has been great,” Theo said, “There’s a huge benefit to working with them, with the whole franchise model… that’s the benefit of franchising.”
Though Theo calls Erin “the real hero of the house,” both of them say that their favorite thing about running their ATC franchise together is the opportunity it provides for them to have a positive impact and give back to their community.
“We have an opportunity to grow something not only for our family but also to have our family grow the community,” Theo said. “We have a mechanism with this business to give back to the community.”
“We’re so new at it, but it’s exciting to think about what the future will hold for us,” Erin added. “It’s exciting to think about how big we can grow this and what it would provide for our family and our community.”

The future is bright for the healthcare industry. Employment in healthcare-related occupations is expected to grow 15% in the next decade — well over what is expected for growth throughout other industries.
However, more immediate growth is abundant, as well. Healthcare positions are consistently recognized at the top of lists indicating opportunities for growth in the last year and the near future. The growth comes, in part, as healthcare workers across the country surge into hospitals to help the staff overcome the additional demands the COVID-19 pandemic has heaped upon them. There has also been a great need for assistance in testing for COVID-19, relating to both testing facilities and healthcare professionals with the skills to administer the tests. Testing facilities are overwhelmed with demand as the outbreak continues to worsen post-holidays, but ATC has come up with a plan to help.
Co-founders and brothers David and Stephen Savitsky recognized testing would be crucial back in March of 2020, which lead to the creation of ATC Testing and Screening Services. Their speedy launch allowed ATC to keep thousands of nurses employed when they might have otherwise been furloughed as hospitals around the country ceased performing elective surgeries to keep up with the needs of COVID patients.
“In our company, [everything we do] is on behalf of our franchisee network, and we’re always looking to provide them with opportunities and guidance and support,” Savitsky said. “We thought this could be a great opportunity, as there’s no place in the country not impacted by this…That’s how we see our role as a franchisor.” ATC has rolled out this new service in 20 states, and they have provided testing and monitoring for a wide array of companies, including offices, factories, schools and universities, and transportation services.
“Unfortunately, because of the continuing pandemic here and that the fall resurgence is happening, the needs are going to be great in the immediate future,” Savitsky said. “Once a vaccine is found and deployed, we want to be a part of that delivery service. We have tons of nurses and plenty of people to help administer, so we’re hoping we’ll be able to do that.”

Let’s be frank: no one could have predicted what 2020 had in store. A global health pandemic has forced all of us to change some of our habits, routines and thought processes in addition to rely on healthcare workers in new ways. Despite the challenges 2020 has presented, the ATC Healthcare staffing franchise has risen to the occasion. Read on to find out how our medical staffing franchise system has survived 2020 and will thrive into 2021—and beyond.
For nearly a year, we’ve been hearing about “essential businesses.” While it can feel like a temporary buzz term, ATC Healthcare’s essential status helped our franchise owners continue to grow their businesses throughout 2020. This year, we did see shifts in the medical facilities that needed healthcare associates, with an increase in hospital staffing compared to other, more specific facilities. Hospitals across the country needed ATC Healthcare. Our franchise partners were able to fulfill those needs and build invaluable relationships they will carry into 2021 because medical staffing franchises are essential businesses.
2020 has proved that healthcare associates are indispensable members of our society. In addition to providing these medical workers with jobs, ATC Healthcare also does everything in our power to keep our associates safe. In fact, if we aren’t satisfied with a hospital’s personal protective equipment or employee safety measures, we will refuse to staff these organizations. As a healthcare staffing franchise with more than three decades of experience, we know that it is crucial for us to take care of healthcare workers.
The level of care we’ve provided our healthcare associates in the midst of a pandemic has gone above and beyond, helping ATC Healthcare survive 2020 and bolstering our already positive reputation for years to come.
In July, the ATC Healthcare staffing franchise was recognized by Forbes for our COVID response, named a five-star staffing agency and placed on their 2020 list of America’s best staffing firms. Our healthcare staffing franchise is honored by the acknowledgment. The ATC Healthcare reputation is unmatched, and it is a powerful tool our franchise partners use to build their own businesses.
As a society, we have never been more grateful for the healthcare associates that give their all to keep us healthy. So, no matter what 2021 holds, the ATC Healthcare staffing franchise will continue to staff the medical facilities that need skilled employees and provide medical professionals with the jobs they need. Healthcare will remain essential and ATC Healthcare franchise partners will be able to build strong businesses while providing a much-needed service.
Another reason ATC Healthcare will be one of the most viable medical staffing franchises of 2021 is simply because our system works. For the past 30 years we have more than proved that healthcare staffing is a niche market with extensive opportunities. Our franchise partners will continue to capitalize on the ATC Healthcare reputation and utilize our systems through 2021.
The ATC Healthcare franchise brand is stronger than ever—and poised to capitalize on this strength throughout 2021. If you are ready to jumpstart your life as your entrepreneur, we encourage you to explore the ATC Healthcare staffing franchise opportunity by reaching out to our team for more information.
The ATC Healthcare staffing franchise is designed to give each franchise partner the opportunity to make the most of their investment. One way we do that is by enabling our franchise partners to keep their in-office staff small. Find out how we—and our franchise partners—make it happen.

ATC Healthcare has been a prominent healthcare staffing franchise for decades and during our tenure we’ve discovered the best way to do a lot of things. We know how to best utilize sales team members, how to efficiently train recruiters and how many staffers you really need. When you invest in the ATC Healthcare staffing franchise, you get more than 30 years of healthcare staffing experience from day one. This level of industry expertise means you don’t have to fumble through daily operations until you figure out systems that actually work; you’ll be an expert from the start.
Although it is possible for ATC Healthcare franchise partners to operate their staffing franchises as semi-absentee or absentee owners, franchise partners who choose to be owner-operators are able to maintain a smaller staff. ATC Healthcare owner-operators often take on a sales role within their staffing agency franchises; meaning you will be able to have a smaller team of salespeople.
Hands-on franchise partners are also able to maintain smaller staffs because they are the de facto manager of the staffing agency. ATC Healthcare franchise partners who choose to be less involved on daily basis need to hire people to manage the staff, hire healthcare associates and communicate with the corporate office. That means a bigger staff and a larger payroll. ATC Healthcare owner-operators are able to bolster their bottom lines by rolling up their sleeves and getting involved.
