The Holiday Season is a Great Time to Work for a Staffing Agency

The holiday season brings staffing challenges for hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, private practices, and other healthcare facilities. The demand for time off from facility employees is tremendous, people want to spend holidays with families – often at a distance from where they work, or they just want to have time off to spend with their children, while they are home from school. At the same time, due to seasonal ailments (flu, respiratory illnesses, slips, and falls) or a shifting of the population to warmer climates demand medical services and the need for skilled staff increases.

Hospitals and health systems have different ways to address this challenge – some will limit time off for their employees, some mandate overtime and some will offer incentive pay, but while these may work, they do not always make for happy or effective employees. This is where partnering with an agency and using per diem nurses can be a good solution. Facilities will turn to agencies to meet this demand. Aligning yourself with an agency now puts you in a position to capitalize on this situation. Registering with an agency gives you the opportunity to pick up the shifts you want, to supplement your income, to help your fellow nurses or allied health professionals who just want a day off and to ensure that all patients receive the care and attention they need.
